Martlets Fall to Bearcats

Your Martlets traveled to Hotchkiss yesterday to defend the Black and Blue Bowl. The Martlets were slow to get off the bus and struggled to find their offensive tempo and quickly found themselves down 6-0 before Luke Rodrigues '27 would break the scoring drought to enter halftime down 6-1. With some renewed energy the Martlets came out battling hard in Q3 and would eventually spark to life following a hard ride and terrific transition goal by Brendan Williams '26 (career first). Your Martlets would outscore Hotchkiss 3-1 in Q4 and had chances down the stretch but the early deficit would be too much to overcome. Overall, the Martlet defensive trio of Ben Norten '25, Finn Seeley '25 and Thomas Blouin '26 was rock solid combining for 6 caused turnovers, 7 GBs and 3 goals against over the final 30 mins of play.  Top offensive performers include Jake Andreski '25, 2 assists/1GB, Luke Rodrigues '27, 2 goals/2GBs, Brendan Williams '26, 1 goal/1 GB, Eli Faro '25, 1 goal and Zoumana Ouattara '25 had a strong 2nd half leading the offense. Defensively, Thomas Blouin scooped 4 GBs and had 2 caused turnovers. The Martlets are off Saturday, April 5th for some much needed rest to get healthy as they battle team illness and several key injuries. Choate next on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
