This year’s Commencement speaker is Moy Ogilvie ’86, a proud alumna, attorney, and trustee emerita. She has served as a class agent, committee member, and trustee for over a decade, with leadership roles on the Faculty and Student Committee, Board of Trustees, and Strategic Planning Committee. In 2013, she received the prestigious Alan F. Brooks ’55 Distinguished Alumni Award at Westminster’s 125th Anniversary Gala. Moy’s lifelong dedication to positive change began as a Westminster student when her admission essay on Albert Halper’s short story “Prelude” focused on fighting for change—an idea that has shaped her career. She is a litigation attorney and currently serves as the Managing Partner of McCarter & English’s Hartford office. She is president-elect of the Hartford County Bar Association, serves on the board of Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity and is a member of the Connecticut Judicial Branch’s Access to Justice Commission. Moy provides pro bono legal services for children in need through Lawyers for Children America and for individuals through various organizations. She also supports numerous community initiatives, including Hartford Youth Scholars and Horizons at Westminster. Moy’s commitment to service and leadership embodies the values Westminster strives to instill in all its students. |
