Martlets Finish Season with a Win

In the final game of the season the Martlets took on the Griffins of Pomfret. The game was preceded by a small senior day celebration for the three “Splash Sister” seniors. The girls were celebrated by their teammates and used as motivation to pull out a victory for the final game of the season. The game started off with a little slow with both teams struggling to score. Fortunately, after converting defensive stops into offense, Avauni Anderson ‘25 and Bella Lilien ‘27 helped the Martlets get on the board. Per usual, Emma Isakoff ‘28 and Adam Dembele ‘25 put their defensive prowess on display making multiple stops and grabbing steals. The Martlets took a quick lead and maintained it throughout the first half. Each Martlet who came off the bench help contribute to the win. Ainslee Deptula ‘28 and Caitlyn Eaton ‘28 made great cuts and passes to the basket to help create space and shots for their teammates. Additionally, Janet Kiburi ‘26 and Arielle Anderson ‘28 grabbed multiple offensive rebounds to help give the Martlets second chance baskets. Suri Dong ‘28 contributed a three pointer that entertained the crowd. Piper Lundin ‘26 and Audrey Tan ‘27 came into the game with energy to help keep the Martlets active on defense. All cheered when Emma Isakoff ‘25 scored a basket, celebrating her final game of the season. With two minutes left in the game, the seniors were subbed out and met with a well deserved round of applause. The win was a cherry on top of a fun season!
