Martlets Defeat Bears


The Westminster School Junior Varsity Martlets delivered a dominant performance in their 50-29 victory over Berkshire on Saturday. Leading the charge were Ethan Hernandez, who scored 13 points, and Mike Basich, who contributed a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The team as a whole showed great cohesion and skill, especially during a 21-point run that turned a 9-7 deficit into a commanding lead. At halftime, Westminster was ahead 28-9 and maintained control throughout the second half.

The Martlets excelled in multiple facets of the game, collecting 40 rebounds, with Basich leading the way. They also showcased excellent teamwork, totaling 12 assists on 21 made baskets. The defense was strong, as the team blocked four shots, with Hudson Black contributing three blocks. Other notable contributions came from Connor Gray (9 points), Garett Rohrbaugh (5 points), Cole Hadden (4 points), Jacoby Jones (4 points), Finn Williams (3 points), and Hudson Black (2 points). Overall, it was a well-rounded team effort, with every player making key contributions to the win!
