Martlets Shutout Pomfret

On a brisk Wednesday evening at Jackson Rink, Westminster emerged victorious with a hard-earned 1-0 win over Pomfret in a fiercely contested battle. The only goal of the game came midway through the second period, when sophomore Ellie Larrabee ’27 took advantage of a crucial scoring opportunity to give Westminster the lead. That goal would prove to be the difference, as Westminster's defense and goaltending remained solid, staving off any attempts from Pomfret to tie the game. Westminster’s goaltending duo of Liesel Kocourek ‘27 and Kate Epke ‘27, showcased their skill and determination by combining for a shutout on their end. Pomfret created a few solid chances, but the goalies stood strong! With just seconds left in the game, Pomfret had their goalie pulled with a faceoff in the offensive zone. The puck popped loose, but as time ran out, the Martlets were able to take a deep breath and celebrate the well deserved win. The win was a testament to the team's grit and determination. The Martlets will enjoy a well deserved weekend off and will take the ice next Wednesday against a strong Deerfield Academy team!
