Martlets and Portsmouth Abbey Tie

In a highly anticipated Friday night matchup at Jackson Rink, Westminster took on Portsmouth Abbey. The Martlets started the game with energy and enthusiasm, quickly getting some quality chances. The Portsmouth Abbey goalie stood tall, which quickly became the theme of the day. The Martlets had multiple odd man rushes, quality scoring chances, and sustained zone time, but despite the consistent pressure, Westminster couldn't break through. Both teams had their share of power-play opportunities throughout the game, but neither could capitalize on the man advantage, with penalty kills proving to be crucial in keeping the game scoreless. With the score deadlocked at 0-0 at the end of regulation, the game proceeded into overtime, leaving the outcome hanging in the balance. The overtime period saw end-to-end action, but despite numerous chances, neither team could secure the game-winning goal. The Martlets have a quick turn around and will take on Hotchkiss tomorrow at 2pm!
Our Grit and Grace player of the game is senior captain Remi Morello! Remi’s effort and will to win was the driving force of the team today!
