Slow Start Dooms Martlets

T. Griffith
Against an aggressive and tough group of Tigers, the boys took a while to fid their groove. Bennett Varao '27 got the scoring started with an basket on the first possession. But Westminster would never lead again. At the end of the first half, the Tigers were leading 46-15. Trailing by 31 at the break, Westminster battled throughout the 2nd stanza. When the final whistle blew, Suffield was on top 76-46. The Martlets won the 2nd half! Varao led the way with 14 points and more than ten rebounds. The boys showed spirit and perseverance as they mastered the press and were able to move the ball up the floor. Sonny Darnowski '28 had several terrific looks inside. The boys kept battling despite the score and they should be proud of their efforts.
