Martlets Fall to Pelicans

The Martlets faced off against Loomis Chaffee this afternoon in the New Gym. This was the second game this weekend on Williams Hill. The Westminster community provided another excellent atmosphere for competition. The Martlets once again started strong with great energy. Jayden Reid ‘25 started the team’s momentum by grabbing rebounds and finishing around the hoop. The lead ping-ponged between Loomis and Westminster in the first half.  The lads continued to battle hard and Sonny Batchelor ’27 punctuated the first half with a fade away jump shot to take the lead going into halftime. The second half started with a score of 30-28 in favor of the Martlets. Alex Wood ’25 distributed the ball well finding teammates to make the score 44-46 in favor of Loomis with six minutes left in the game. The boys battled until the final buzzer but ultimately came up short with a final score of 51-65. Westminster will travel to New York to face Trinity-Pawling this coming Wednesday.
