Martlets Fall to Brunswick

The Martlets traveled to Greenwich, Connecticut, to face Brunswick in a hard-fought soccer match. In the first half, Jordan Pham ‘27 played a key role as forward, maintaining strong possession and pushing the attack forward. Steven Lau ‘28 displayed excellent balance and composure all over the field, consistently putting pressure on the Brunswick defense with his dynamic play. His efforts were great and allowed him an opportunity to score a goal in the final two minutes of the first half. 
 
The second half was a tightly contested battle between the two teams. Brunswick capitalized on a couple of opportunities, scoring twice to take the lead. Despite the setbacks, the Martlets continued to fight hard, with Aidan O’Callaghan ‘26 standing out for his exceptional defensive play. O’Callaghan ‘26 was a constant presence at the back, blocking Brunswick’s advances and demonstrating remarkable leadership under pressure. His ability to win possession and organize the defense was crucial in keeping the game competitive. Additionally, Henry Naylor ‘25, in what was his final JV soccer game, closed out the match with great effort, contributing significantly throughout. 
 
The Grit & Grace Award and why? The Grit and Grace Award is given to Aidan O’Callaghan ‘26 for his relentless energy and tactical defensive work, which were pivotal in keeping the Martlets competitive.
