Martlets Defeat Kent

For our final game of the season we played Kent School. This was a nice bookend as we opened our season against them with a 4-0 win. Our Martlets controlled most of the game and we started scoring early in the game. From a direct kick near midfield, Henry Baird ‘26 delivered the ball to the top of the box where Mathias Seber ‘26 drilled the ball into the net (4’). In the 17th minute Max Famulak ‘27 pressured the Lions’ defensive line after a short goal kick. He was able to create a turnover, dribble along the endline, and then score past the goalkeeper. In the 34’ Owen McNally ‘26 launched a direct kick from 25 yards out into the goal to put us up 3-0 just before halftime. In the 20th minute of the second half, McNally scored his second goal of the game off a nice through ball from Dylan Zapata ‘27. The boys eased off the gas pedal some and this allowed Kent to score in the 23’ on a PK and in the 28’. For the last 10 minutes of the game our intensity returned and delivered us the 4-2 victory. Our GRIT & Grace player of the game is Dylan Zapata for his unselfish play as he worked hard to set up teammates for scoring opportunities.
