Martlets Fall to Berkshire

Our Martlets traveled to Lakeville, CT to take on the Bearcats of Hotchkiss. The home team was strong, skilled, fast, and plentiful; a tough endeavor for our Martlets. In the 14th minute Hotchkiss broke through our D and slotted the ball past our goalkeeper, Ethan Hernandez ‘27, into the net for an early lead. The same player recorded a hat trick by scoring in the 17th and 20th minutes. Another late goal left us trailing 0-4 at the half. In the second half Hotchkiss substituted in other players and our young men turned up their intensity and drive. While we were clearly outplayed (8 corners for the Bearcats and only 2 for the Martlets; and the score), the boys competed. GRIT & Grace Player of the Game is Ethan Hernandez for his numerous saves, many of which were point-blank and purely reactionary.
