Martlets Fall to Taft

Westminster Girls Varsity Soccer fell to the Taft this past Wednesday afternoon. On their senior day, the Rhinos came ready to play and battle against the Westminster Martlets. Scoring two goals in the first half, the Martlets regrouped at half and discussed ways in which to improve in the following 40 minutes. After the Rhinos scored another goal, the Martlets were finally able to put a point on the board thanks to Maya Goddard ‘26. After making her way all the way up the field from the defensive line, Goddard found herself near the Rhino’s 18-yard box and rocketed the ball into the back of the Taft net. The score remained 3-1 until the final whistle. The Martlets look forward to their final away game this Saturday against the Bears of Berkshire. The game will be played at 1:30 PM.
