Martlets Fall to Williston
Amazing energy from the girls tonight. Everyone came back from the long weekend recharged and excited to play. Although we were one player short (sick), the team was small and mighty per usual. Thirds scored their first goal of the season and we could not be more proud of them! We had some amazing defense skills from our goalies Chase Carter ‘26 and Virginia Whiting ‘26. They held down the fort and played some great blocks out there. We had great contributions from Grace Brown ‘28 and Teagan Lynch ‘27. They were open for their teammates and showed fantastic communication skills on the field. Another great play from our favorite defense players Edie Goodyear ‘28, Anastasia Augsberger ‘26, and Lulu Dawson ‘27. They were fierce and worked so well together! Huge shout out to Abby Desson ‘28. She is a monster on the field. She showed grit tremendously tonight. She was hit in the knee by an opponent's field hockey stick, iced it, and got right back into the game. She is always giving the team 100%!
GRIT & Grace Award and why? - Our award today goes to Hopie Fooshee ‘27. She scored the first goal of the season and we are so proud! Her teammates were ecstatic and showed so much support. Hopie took initiative in this game and really took on a leadership role and we love to see it!
