Martlets Run Hard vs Williston and KO

The Westminster Boys Cross Country team faced off against Williston and Kingswood Oxford in Northampton this past Saturday, with the boys falling to both squads despite excellent efforts from many individuals. Setting the tone was Sam Hyde (’25), who ran a sub 20-minute effort as well as finishing 8th overall as Westy’s only top 10 finisher. Setting personal bests for this meet were Matt O’Connell (’25) dropping 1:45, Nick Lopriore (’26) dropping 0:29, and Liam Murray (’26) dropping 1:25 in his season’s best time. Daniel Frid (’27) and Sean Tang (’28) also suited up for the first time of the season debuts and performed well despite both runners not having the same amount of practice as anyone else on the team.
The Grit and Grace award goes to Sean Tang (‘28) who braved sickness and injury to complete his debut race for the varsity boys squad.
