Martlets Compete at Choate
The Varsity Girls’ XC charged into the season with full confidence and determination this Saturday at Choate. Despite the heat and a challenging course, the Girls’ had twelve competitors finish the race. Every single girl who entered completed the course. AJ Jimenez ‘25 finished first for the Martlets in a quick time of 26:25. This marks one of AJ’s fastest times since joining the XC team last year, an impressive accomplishment in the heat and on a hilly course. Sunshine Li ‘26 finished strong behind her in a time of 27:46, another equally impressive time. Behind Sunshine Li, Anna Klapman ‘26 and Hayden Schneider ‘25, fought strong to the finish for times of 28:44 and 28:47 respectively.
A big shout out to Mimi Salman ‘26, Blair Li ‘28, Joy Li ‘28, and Chloe Zhao ‘28 for competing in their first ever 5K as Martlets!
The Martlets will be back on the course next Saturday at the Canterbury Invitational.
