Martlets Fall to Tigers

The Martlets played well but lost a hard fought 6-4 game against Suffield Academy.  Melody El-Amin '27 had a solo home run in the first inning and scored three runs during the contest. Mia Magriz '25 reached base three times and had a run scoring single in the fifth inning. Anna Hassett followed by launching a sacrifice fly to score El-Amin and tie the game at 4-4. However, Suffield scored two runs in the top of the seventh. In the bottom of the frame, El-Amin and Magriz reached base but the Westminster rally fell short. Hassett pitched well against a strong Suffield lineup, and was supported by the excellent defensive play of El-Amin at shortstop and Magriz behind the plate. Kaitlyn Buda '27 continued her fine fielding at second base, and Paige Herlihy '25 played well at third. The Martlets will next play at Loomis Chaffee on Monday.
