Martlets Defeat Rumsey

In a thrilling game, the boys beat a talented group from Ramsey Hall 42–33 on Williams Hill. Playing their basketball all season, the Martlet defense was on point and the offense was patient, effective, and mostly error-free. After shutting down Rumsey in the first half, Westminster led 21-12 at the break. Although Rumsey was able to score more points in the second half and even take the lead, the Martlets were able to finish the game on an 11-1 run to seal the victory. Bennett Varao ‘27 led the way with a season high 15 points. His partner, Sonny Darnowski ‘28 scored nine and created several turnovers by Rumsey. Liam Hibbard ‘27 at his best game of the season as he led the Martlet office every time he was on the floor.  Returning from illness, Caden Cramer ‘27 played efficiently and intelligently. This was truly a team effort, as 15 players all contributed positively to the Westminster victory.
