Martlets Fall on the Road

Summary: The Martlets made the drive to Lakeville this afternoon following a PSAT-filling morning. Notoriously a gritty team that is challenging to play, the Martlets knew going in that they would need to enter the game with the right mindset. Unfortunately, the team did not bring their best efforts to the match today, and the Bearcats of Hotchkiss were quick to capitalize. The first goal came in the first half when the Bearcats found themselves right in front of the net which made for a near-impossible save for the Martlet goalie. The team entered the second half down 1-0, and the Bearcats did not give up in their pursuit. Finding the goal an additional two more times, the Martlets returned to Simsbury with the final 3-0 score. The team looks forward to rebounding this upcoming Saturday at Williston. The game will be played away in Northampton at 2:30 PM. Go Martlets!

Grit and Grace Award: The Grit and Grace Award today is given to Cameron Perillo for bringing a strong effort off the bench today that gave the Martlets a boost of grit and energy.
