Martlets Shutout Salisbury

Our Martlets hosted the Salisbury School Scarlet Knights in our second game of the season. We were several players short due to some new injuries and some lingering issues; those who played worked hard and showed nice progress in the areas in which we focused our practices this week (always something nice to see happen!). Salisbury did not have many subs on their bench, but they came out hard and played well. Early in the first half the Knights controlled play and had several good attempts at goal only to be thwarted by strong goaltending by Ethan Hernandez ‘27. Later in the first half we gained control of the game and Jayden Lee ‘25 and Cayden Cramer ‘27 scored. The defense unit worked well together and caused the Salisbury offense to be offside at least five times during the game. In the second half Hernandez made two point blank saves that preserved the lead. Two yellow card infractions by Martlets meant we played with an even shorter bench, but the team displayed grit and persevered. Both Lee and Cramer added second goals to double the lead. Our GRIT & Grace winner as selected by Coach Joncas is Colin Daly ‘27 for his improving play, better positioning, and overall hustle. 3BS hosts Choate Rosemary Hall on Wednesday at 3:30.
