Martlets Tie Berkshire

The Martlets traveled to Sheffield, Massachusetts, this Saturday afternoon to face off against the Berkshire Bears. On a windy but beautiful fall day, the Martlets arrived ready to compete. With the Bears celebrating their senior day, they also brought plenty of energy and grit, setting the stage for an exciting matchup. All 80 minutes saw competitive moments from both teams. The Martlets had the advantage of the wind in the first forty, which propelled them into the Bear’s half frequently. Despite multiple corner kicks and through-ball chances toward the Berkshire net, Westminster was unable to capitalize on their chances. The same was true with the second half, despite having to face the wind. Westminster was gritty in their attack and played tough defense as well. The score remained 0-0 until the final whistle, but Westminster walked away proud of their play. After a hard-fought game, the team headed to the Marshalls' for a wonderful dinner filled with laughter and fun, savoring each other’s company as the season soon draws to a close. The team looks forward to their final two practices and upcoming game against Pomfret. The game will be played at home this Wednesday, at 3 PM.
