Martlets Shutout by Bement

The thirds field hockey team started off steady and ended strong! They are a small, but mighty team! We had some great defensive plays from Lulu Dawson ‘27 and Edie Goodyear ‘28. Anytime the ball got near our goal these girls were on it and sent it flying across the field. We had our amazing goalies, Chase Carter ‘26 to start the game and Rebecca Hartman ‘28 to end the game. They blocked some close shots with their great footwork and stick skills. Abby Desson ‘28 had lots of time with the ball and dominated the field! She was everywhere and helping out with all the positions and was a great teammate. The spirits were high at the end of the game, especially when Hopie Fooshee ‘27 was cheering on her teammates while on a break. The energy was great and the girls were having fun. There was a lot of communication on the field, especially from Teagan Lynch ‘27 being open for her teammates on the field.
GRIT & Grace Award and why? - This game we are giving the award to Hopie Fooshee ‘27. Not only was she super encouraging, but she made a play that was the closest the thirds team has ever gotten to making a goal this season! She played well, even with the opposing team attacking her from all sides, and tried to make the shot! This was the first attempt made by the team and we are so proud of how they played today.
