Martlets Shutout at Hotchkiss

The Martlets hit the road again to take on Hotchkiss School for their eighth game of the season. The Martlets came into the game with a strong 6-1 record. The first half was a good start for the Martlets. The compete level was high, which was something the Martlets wanted to focus on coming into the game. The team showcased awesome teamwork throughout the half, moving the ball up field well and playing shutdown defense when necessary. Hannah Maltby ‘26, stood on her head today in net, making some key saves at pivotal moments of the game. Although the energy was high for the Martlets, the first half ended in a 1-0 deficit. During halftime, the spirits stayed high and the Martlets were excited to take the field for the second half. As the third quarter began, the Martlets continued their solid play, keeping the ball down in Hotchkiss’ end for a good period of time. Once the Hotchkiss team got the ball in our defensive end, they gained momentum and kept it for the majority of the fourth quarter. They would go on to add two more goals, one in the third quarter and one with about two minutes to go in the game, bringing the final score to 3-0. The Martlets battled hard and will look to continue their competitive play during their next game on Saturday against Williston Northampton School at 2pm!
Our Grit and Grace player of the game is Hannah Maltby ‘26! Throughout the game she made multiple highlight reel saves and allowed the team to play with confidence in front of her!
