Martlets Race at New Englands
The Westminster cross country team finished up a successful season with their final race of the year. Westy brought their top seven runners to the race and delivered some true grit and grace throughout the afternoon on possibly the most challenging course of the year. Captain James O’Connell (’25) led the way in his final race as a Martlet as the first runner from Westminster across the finish line. Nick Lopriore (’26) finished next in one of his best efforts of the year, crossing the line with a huge smile across his face. Sam Hyde (’25) was third, concluding a successful final year in cross country. He demonstrated just what made him such a great captain in his support of all of the runners who crossed the line next, even if his legs were in no mood to cooperate with running on this day- way to persevere, Sam!
Matt O’Connell (’25), Michael Wang (’27), Mikey Wang (’28), and Niraj Prakash (’26) rounded out the top seven for Westminster’s cross-country season. Great work and as Daniel Frid (’27) would always say, “BOYS CROSS COUNTRY!”
