Martlets Fall to AOF

Westminster started strong, taking an early lead, but Avon Old Farms fought back to hold a slim two-point advantage at halftime. In a tightly contested second half, Westminster remained within striking distance and then took the lead 36-33 with three minutes remaining. The Winged Beavers threw in a 3 pointer and made another basket and the Martlets were unable to finish on the offensive end, falling 40-36 in a well-played game by both teams. Sonny Darnowski ‘28 led the way with 14 points and Caden Cramer ‘27 had his best game of the year with 8 points and several key rebounds. Once again, Bennett Varao ‘27 was a force on the defensive end. The boys return to action against Choate on Saturday.
