Martlets Beat Saints

The Martlets earned another win to close out a three-game week. Unlike the game before,  the Martlets were able to come out to a fast start leading 8-6 at the end of the first quarter. The ball movement by the Martlets was on display. Great passing from Bella Lilien ‘27 and Emma Isakoff ‘25 helped get the ball inside to Avauni Anderson ‘25 for some easy layups. Westminster was able to build on their lead going into halftime. Things got a little chippy in the third quarter, which frazzled the Martlets. The lead was erased and the girls needed to fight to get back in the game. After a time-out was called the girls regrouped and were reminded to play their game. Focusing on energy, defense, and teamwork the Martlets pulled it together to chip away for a comeback. The Martlets switched their defense to a full-court press, which gave the team the spark they needed. Key defensive stops from Caitlyn Eaton ‘28, Bella Lilien ‘27, and Avauni Anderson ‘25 led to a succession of steals that were converted into quick layups. For the second game in a row, every Martlet who came off the bench and into the game and made an impact. Piper Lundin ‘26 hit a three-pointer to help add to the Martlets lead. Callie Graby ‘28  and Arielle Anderson ‘28 provided great defensive energy off the bench. It was a great team win for the Martlets which took grit and definitely a lot of grace as well.
