Martlets Defeat Canterbury

In the first half, the Martlets struggled to match their usual pace, allowing Canterbury to dictate play early on. However, William Jones ‘28 stood out with a commendable performance, providing stability throughout the match. Despite the slower tempo, the Martlets managed to score twice: Teddy Russell ‘26 opened the scoring with a well-placed shot, and Steven Lau ‘28 added another after capitalizing on a defensive lapse from Canterbury after they scored their first goal. The half ended with the Martlets leading 2-1.  
 
The second half saw the Martlets come alive, showcasing a more dynamic and aggressive style. Teddy Russell ‘26 scored a penalty, and Luke Champoux ‘28 netted two goals, reflecting his relentless effort and determination. With a comfortable 5-1 lead, the team momentarily eased off, allowing Canterbury to score another goal. The match ended with the Martlets securing a solid 5-2 victory.
