Martlets Fall to Miss Porter's

The Martlets fell to Miss Porter’s this afternoon at home. Both teams battled in an evenly-matched first half. Moments of opportunity were present for both the Daisies of Miss Porter’s and the Martlets in those first 40 minutes, but each team was unable to finish their chances. The Martlets played a great first half; looking to connect with each other, play with speed, and having an attacking mindset, it was one of the best halves the Westminster squad has had this season. Without explanation, however, the Martlet’s switch turned off after halftime. The team entered the next 40 with decreased intensity which was quickly capitalized on by Miss Porter’s. Just minutes into the new half Porter’s was able to find the back of the net for the first time of the day. They were able to strike again a bit later on in the half, and the Martlets were unable to bounce back. With a lot of different lessons learned today, the Martlets look forward to the upcoming days of practice to prepare for their next match. Their next game with be away at Loomis Chaffee this Saturday, October 5th, at 6:30 PM.

Grit and Grace Award: The Grit and Grace Award today is awarded to Emma Isakoff ‘25 for her hard and gritty work in the midfield today. Never giving up, she worked tirelessly to win and distribute the ball to her teammates. She also had a great shot in the second half which gave the Martlets a close scoring opportunity.
