Martlets Finish Season with Loss to Rumsey
A bittersweet end to our field hockey games. The martlets faced Ramsey Hall once again at the end of the season. Even though we improved drastically this season and worked much better together as a team, the other team was simply player at a higher level. Instead of treating this as another defeat, collectively, the teammates decided that it was a chance to have fun and show each other support. Three goalies Harriet Leventhal ’26, Parker Perillo ’26, and Chase Carter ’26 offered to play, which shows how far these players have come since there were a lot of hesitance in trying to play goalie during the beginning of the season. Our defense got progressively better as the game went on, with Lily Abdel-Meguid ’26 blocking a crucial goal in the second quarter. Sofiia Kondratiuk ’26 played as her best self, with speed and determination. Abigail Graham ’27, Hopie Fooshee ’27 , Gabby de la Fe ’26, and Macey Sheehan ’27 were forever our most reliable players, bracing through the rain and cold and always ready to follow the ball.
