Martlets Fall to Kent

The Martlets hit the road again for a Wednesday night matchup against Kent! After a rainy bus ride, the team was ready to take the ice for their first Founders League game of the season! Kent broke the ice with their first period goal but not long after, senior captain Adrienne Hall ‘25 tied the game up for the Martlets! As Hall gained speed through the neutral zone, she skated hard onto a puck that was wisely chipped out of the defensive zone. She was able to use her speed to get past the Kent defenseman and her low shot beat the goalie. The assist was credited to sophomore forward Stella Spitz ‘27! Both teams headed into the first period break with one goal a piece! The Martlets were hoping to continue their scoring as well as amp up the intensity going into the second period. Unfortunately, today was not the Martlets day. Kent would add four more to the scoreboard bringing the final score to 5-1. Kate Epke ‘27 continued to make some great saves for the Martlets and some strong individual efforts were shown. As a team, the Martlets will use this game to reflect on and learn from moving forward. The team looks forward to their next game at nearby school Loomis Chaffee on Monday at 5pm!
